It’s available by engaging in two of the season’s new systems - hunting wildlife and crafting. Crafting a Hunter’s Cloak is also one of the early Seasonal challenges - so working out how to do it is not only a useful introduction to those systems, but a way to get some XP gains. Don’t forget to check out the new victory umbrella and map locations, along with where to find the golden artifacts. Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What’s new? Chapter 3 Season 3 has arrived! New additions include Reality Seeds and Saplings and riding animals, along with the new Battle Pass, characters collection and map changes. It’s a good idea to know how to get XP fast in Fortnite.
Animal Bones x 2 (Crafting Ingredient) Meat x1 (Inventory Item)
To craft in Fortnite, access your inventory (press Up on the D-Pad), then move over to the crafting tab.
From here, you can elect to ‘upgrade’ any of the items you have in your inventory using components you’ve collected during that match to things such as Primal weapons.
To get Meat and Animal Bones, you must hunt wildlife. Creatures spawn in a variety of places across the map - there is no specific one location you can reliably go to, from what we can tell. For example, we found a boar roaming near Weeping Woods, and that gave us enough resources from a single kill to be able to craft a Hunter’s Cloak.
Whichever animal you come across, pick up the Meat and Animal Bones which drop. The Meat in particular is an item you can equip, and it’s this you can upgrade with the Animal Bones in the crafting menu.
Select the Meat in the crafting menu, opt to craft, and the Hunter’s Cloak is yours.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Chapter 1 is here, complete with a new augments system, the coming arrival of Geralt and the Ageless Champion to beat! We’ve also got a present list for Winterfest and Cozy Lodge and pizza slice locations.
Meanwhile, learn how to get XP fast, earn the Victory Umbrella, find character locations and earn a Victory Crown.
The description for the Hunter’s Cloak is as follows: “Throws creatures off the scent.”
Once equipped and ‘used’, it should ward away any aggressive animals which come your way - such as wolves, one of the new wildlife additions to the Season 6 map - and is a requirement to tame others, such as raptors.
