Players have been experiencing a range of issues, from crashing clients to not being able to download the game at all. While Warzone players could just switch to Steam on PC, it left paying players of Modern Warfare 2 (as well as other premium Activision Blizzard games) unable to download or update their games. Those who did manage to get past this first hurdle also faced in-game server issues, ranging from poor latency to not being able to connect at all....

It follows the adventures of Sissel, who wakes at the beginning of the game in spirit form, inches from his corpse, with little recollection of his past. The REDmod tool is available to download from Steam and CD Projekt directly, which allows users to install and integrate mods into the game. The Witcher: Old World will be a prequel to the studio’s Geralt of Rivia game trilogy, in which players become a young Witcher of their own making and set off to battle monsters. As in the games - and Netflix’s TV show - you’ll take on contracts, face difficult choices, and possibly have to duff up other Witchers from time to time. Chocobo GP is coming to Switch in 2022, and takes characters familiar from the Final Fantasy series and puts them into the comforting mold of the kart racer. There are chocobos, moogles and mages, all squished into karts and using magicite to take each other down in their efforts to cross the finish line first.

Previously, new players of the free-to-play competitive first-person shooter had access to drops, ranks, skill groups, and a free path to Prime (paid) matchmaking. Valve said that over time, these benefits had become “an incentive for bad actors to hurt the experience of both new and existing players”. Now, new players have a different offering. They can still play every game mode, play on community servers and play workshop maps, but they will no longer receive XP, ranks, drops, or skill groups....

As perhaps expected, the game will run with 4K resolution and 60fps on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, while on PC (Steam) the frame rate can be boosted to 120fps depending on specs. However, Xbox Series S owners should note that a day one patch will be required in order to hit 60fps, otherwise it’ll be 30fps. Today’s latest PS5 system software is yesterday’s firmware beta 3.1, where I discovered that in very certain circumstances, the software upgrade results in higher frame-rates on my launch model PS5. This was somewhat problematic during the CFI-1100 review process, where it seemed that my old PS5 was running faster than the new machine - something that shouldn’t happen. I got to the bottom of the issue by benchmarking all games three times in order to establish which games varied performance on a per-run basis....
