Reports of a co-op component for the Horizon series first emerged in 2020, when VGC claimed the studio had initially been looking to implement the feature as part of 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn before ditching it to focus on other areas. Co-op was then said to have been revived for Horizon Forbidden West, potentially as a separate mode, but again didn’t make the final cut. As confirmed by Guerilla’s recruitment-focused Twitter feed, however, the studio’s co-op dreams are still very much alive, with the company currently hiring for an internally developed “separate online project” in the Horizon universe....
That’s right, Hades 2 has been announced. Revealed at this year’s Game Awards, Supergiant has introduced us all to the Princess of the Underworld. The developer promises this upcoming release will be a “bewitching sequel to [its] award-winning rogue-like dungeon crawler” Hades. You can check out its trailer below. Lehto, dubbed “the father of the Master Chief” for his role in the creation of the iconic Halo series at Bungie, is building a new EA office in the Seattle area. Details are scarce, but Lehto said in a tweet that the new studio is being built to work on first-person games. Lehto was most recently president and game director at V1 Interactive, which closed down earlier this year after Disintegration failed to pull in enough players....
Over the weekend, 343 held limited-time matchmaking sessions for 4v4 arena. These included just a few core multiplayer modes (Slayer, Strongholds and Capture the Flag) on just a few maps (Live Fire, Recharge, Bazaar and, for Sunday only, Behemoth), but it was enough for me to come away convinced Halo Infinite’s multiplayer could be something special. A lot of it has to do with rekindling that classic Halo multiplayer feel....
Infinite’s combat sensor sparked a debate within the Halo community after it made its debut during the recent technical preview. The combat sensor is the radar that sits in the bottom-left of your HUD. In the classic Halo games, the radar shows all movement except crouch-walking. But Halo Infinite’s radar worked differently - it only displayed enemies when they were sprinting or shooting - a change that made it similar to Halo 5’s Threat Tracker....
The beta for the campaign’s co-op will begin on 11th July, and culminates on the 22nd. 343 industries’ principal software engineering lead Isaac Bender and lead world designer John Mulkey have also provided more insight to the game’s upcoming co-op mode. “One of our core principles is that we don’t want to require you to have an isolated co-op save. Of course, you can use a separate save slot for co-op if you want to, but we wanted to give players the option to have co-op progress count toward your ‘main’ playthrough, if that’s how you want to play,” Bender explained....

This year’s BlizzConline, as Blizzard is determined to call it, is described as an “all-digital community celebration and exhibition of Blizzard games and universes” and will run from 19th-20th February. It’s a free event, and will be available to watch on the BlizzCon website, as well as various streaming platforms, including Twitch and YouTube. Blizzard says it’ll be “celebrating some fun milestones, shining a spotlight on the epic things the Blizzard community has been up to, and sharing the latest Blizzard game news with everyone” across the event’s two day run-time, and has assembled a schedule of activities, gaming competitions, and pre-produced segments to do just that....

The developer has said these new pieces are “perfect” for “marathon gaming sessions” as you explore the Forbidden West with Aloy. Originally revealed by MP1st, this remaster will allegedly bring Zero Dawn closer in terms of visuals to its successor, Forbidden West. While, at the time of writing, it is unclear whether this is a “from the ground up” remake of the 2017 title, it is claimed that this version of Zero Dawn will see new character models, improvements to the game’s lighting system and animations, and “overhauled textures”. In addition to this news, this report also stated that an online multiplayer set in Horizon’s world is being worked on by PlayStation....
